Yaquina Lighthouse to Wheeler, OR (Thursday, September 12th, 2019)

Today we did the opposite of yesterday, making our way down the coast as far as the Yaquina Light House, and then making our way back north to camp.  The light house is part of a protected area, with an entry fee of $7 per day, but if you have an America the Beautiful pass, your entry is free.  Luckily, we have our national parks pass!  We skipped the visitors center, and made our way up to the lighthouse.

At the light house, you can look over the cliffs at all of the marine life.

After leaving the lighthouse, we made our way down to Foul Weather Point and Devils Punch Bowl.  The view here were incredible, but we got a little side tracked because we started seeing gray whales!

As we made our way north along the coast, we just kept seeing more and more pods of whales, so I decide that they would have to become a post of their own.  So this post will focus on the magnificent sights.

Another stop on today's journey was an area called Cape Kiwanda.  It is a beach area where there is a lot of dory boat fishing, a huge sand dune, and rock caves.

Then back on the road again.

We are both intrigued by the beauty of the Oregon coast.  It's a really fun place to explore!
