Jumping From a Chinook (Thursday, September 5th, 2019)

We left Walla Walla yesterday and made our way to our next camp spot, which is the Joint Base Lewis McCord.  When our oldest daughter made this reservation for us, we had absolutely no idea how beautiful this place would be.  It is by far the prettiest of all of our RV Parks so far!

Upon arriving, we got a sweet surprise...our son (in-law) would be making a jump while we are here visiting, and we would be able to watch him!  So today we found our spot on Lake America to watch his jump.

We knew he was the second to the last to jump, so we could watch for him.

All of the families came out today to watch the jump, which made it super fun!

When he came down, it took awhile for his parachute to deflate, so he did a bit of water skiing on his back before the boat got to him for his pick up.

But before long, he was on his way in after a very successful jump.

The jumpers took a few minutes to get their gear unloaded from the boat before they could rest up.

And at the end of it all, I got a soggy post-jump hug that I will cherish forever!  We couldn't have hand picked a better man for our daughter, and are so grateful to have him as a member of our family!

In the background of Lake America stands the peak of Mount Rainier, a beautiful sight after watching such an exhilarating jump.

We had a wonderful dinner with the kids at our camp ground.

A quick tour of the base RV Park shows just how beautiful it is.

Although the kids have gone back to work, we will still get a little bit of time with them while we are here on the Pacific coast.
