Jedediah Smith Coastal Redwoods, CA (Thursday, September 19th, 2019)

We've moved down the coast again, and are now staying at a beautiful place called Turtle Rock RV Resort in Gold Beach, Oregon.  It is situated on Hunter Creek within walking distance to the beach, and about 30 minutes north of the California border.

We are doing some scouting for great places to visit in this area because our oldest daughter and her husband may be coming to visit and we want to show them only the best!  So today we drove down across the California border to Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park to see if it would be worth bring them.  This park is full of coastal redwoods, which are different than the sequoias, but incredible in their own way.  What we found here was magnificent and magical!

This forest is much more dense, with more vegetation than the Sequoia National Park.  It has a very different, much quieter feel.

Just like with the sequoias, you need a person in your pictures to give it some perspective.

It's hard to wrap our heads around how big these trees are, but then to think that it all starts with a pine cone the size of a large marble.

If the kids get to come see us here, this will definitely be on the list of must-see's!
