Port Orford Heads, OR (Friday, September 20th, 2019)

Our next "winner" in exploration spots is called Port Orford Heads State Park.

It is a beautiful walk through the woods and meadows to an observation point with whales and seals.

Fall is definitely in the air, and on the ground, but it is a beautiful day!

When we got out to the point, we met a local author that told us about the resident whale they have here named "Buttons".  She said that she had seen him today, so we all started watching for him, and sure enough, he made an appearance for us!

So we stayed awhile and watched him show off for us!

Then we noticed that as the tide was going out, the seals were starting to sun on the rocks just below us.

We finally pulled ourselves away and finish our walk around the Port Orford Heads peninsula, adding this to the list for great places to visit!

As we came by the Gold Beach Jetty, the river was full of salmon fishermen.
