Mount Rainier, Washington (Monday, September 2nd, 2019)

Today we have to say goodbye to the kids.  Our youngest and her boyfriend will fly out of SEA-TAC and our oldest and her husband will go back to their lives.  We will see our oldest and her husband again, but we don't know when we will see our youngest again.  And we just weren't quite ready for that to happen, so Steve and I decided that to extend our time, we would caravan part way back with them, with a few fun stops along the way!

We made a stop at Rim Rock Lake for lunch.  Such a beautiful spot to eat and skips some rocks.

Then off we went again toward Mount Rainier.   Unlike the eastern plains of Washington, the Cascade Mountains are cool and damp.

Mount Rainier is a truly marvelous sight.  Unlike the mountains of Colorado, Mount Rainier makes it's way up from sea level to over 14,000 feet.  Our son (in-law) climbed it about a year ago, and there are glacial craters that could swallow a person alive.

We took in the sights of this majestic mountain with the kids, and then sent them on their way.  We turned east to head back to camp, they headed west toward SEA-TAC.

We stopped for a few more pictures along the way before making the lonely drive back to Walla Walla.

When we got back to camp, the hen turkeys had made their way into camp, and came by to greet us.  They must have known that we could use a little pick me up.
