Graduation Parties Galore (May 23rd, 2015)

Yesterday, in addition our daughter's wedding, it was also graduation day for most of the high schools in the Denver area. Today is graduation party day for two of our nieces and the daughter of our friend Tim. We are going to do our best to get to all of them.

We woke up this morning at the hotel in Broomfield from our daughter's wedding the night before, and met Andra’s parents and Steve’s aunt, uncle and niece for breakfast.  It was such a treat to have so many people stay at the hotel, so we could spend extra time with all of them last night and this morning.

We had a lot of stuff to take home from the wedding, so it took a while to load the truck before we could leave the hotel. When we got home, we got everything unloaded, showered, and got ready for the start of the graduation parties.

Our twin nieces graduated yesterday from Skyview Academy, a small charter school in Highlands Ranch, CO. They are the first graduating class from their school. Their graduation party was at their dad’s house, where they now live with their dad and his new wife. Their graduation party was very nice, with lots of gluten free options because one of our nieces also has to eat gluten free. How convenient!! They had a beautiful deck set up out back, but because the weather just won’t cooperate, the party had to be held inside. We had a lot of fun hearing about the girl’s plans for the future. One will be attending Hastings College in Hastings, NE and the other will be attending Emporia State University in Emporia, KS. We are so proud of both of them.

Next, we were off to part two of their graduation party at their grandma and grandpas house, where all of their mom’s side of the family (that includes us) could spend more time together. Their mom now lives in Kansas City, MO., so we don’t get to see much of her or her new husband. By the time we got to the second party, the weather had cleared a bit, and we were able to be out on their beautiful and spacious back porch. They had lots more wonderful food, and most of the family was there. It is so hard to get all of us together, so this was a very special day.

Unfortunately, Steve and I both started fading quickly at this point, so we decided to call it a day, and we weren’t able to make it to our last party.
