Colorado Hail (Tuesday, August 1st, 2017)

Today was just another day of catching up on things that needed to be done.  One of our errands was getting our daughter's car in for service.

The SRS light on her dash has been on for awhile.  The last time we had it in for service, they told us that it is not actually the airbags, it is the seat belt fastener giving off an incorrect code. The repair shop that we use said that they can't turn off the light.  The dealership will have to validate the problem and then turn it off.  So today the car is going in to the dealership.

If it is a faulty seat belt indicator, it will be under warranty and will cost us nothing to get it fixed.  If it is actually a problem with the airbags, it will be an expensive fix on an old, twice hailed car that really isn't worth much.  So we're hoping for the best.

While we were waiting at the dealership, we decided to stroll around the car lot and look at some of the new cars.  But to our surprise, probably half the cars in the lot had hail damage; really bad hail damage.

Hail is so common in Colorado, and so destructive.  It just made our hearts sink to see these beautiful, brand new cars with so much damage.

It wasn't long before they called us to the service counter.  The SRS light was actually caused by a faulty seat belt indicator, just as we had hoped for.  So off we went with our SRS light turned off for the first time in months.  Yay!
