Our First Desert Ride (Saturday, February 25th, 2017)

We have wanted to go for a ride in the desert since we got here, so today we tagged along with our friends Tim and Cheryl.  One of the nice things about Arizona is that UTV's can be licensed to be street legal, meaning that you can ride them anywhere within the city, or out in the desert. We drove over to their house, and from there we headed into the desert.  No trailers required.....so nice!  It was just a nice leisurely ride, stopping often to enjoy the beauty of the desert. Look, no snow!

The desert is much greener this time of year than a lot of people realize.  Right now, the ocotillos are fully leafed out, and some of them are starting to get buds on the top.  They are really pretty!

An ocotillo up close and personal
A few of the desert flowers are starting to bloom as well.

Someone decorated this ocotillo with their empty beer cans.

We just stayed behind Tim and Cheryl as they really knew their way around!

It was a gorgeous day!  Temps in the high seventies, and just a nice breeze.  You can't beat that in February!
