Hiking Lizard Peek Trail (Thursday, March 30th, 2017)

With a calm morning, and a forecast for high winds in the afternoon, we decided to go for a hike early.  It is a hike that Steve and I have done before, but the kids never have.

The story of this hike is interesting, and is documented in my post which was released Friday, May 6th, 2016 and is entitled LHC Hiking the Lizard Peek Trail.

We're always amazed at all the creatures you can find if you just take the time to look.

The picture below is the switchbacks to get up to the peak.

Looking back at all the trails below.

You can see this 80 foot long geoglyph of a lizard from this trail.

Almost to the top.  Looking back at the parking lot.

The lizard on the right was shedding and looked really strange.

The tallest peak behind us is where we hiked to.

We always bring snacks to eat at the picnic table on top, but today we left them lay on the kitchen counter, so when we got done with the hike we were starving.  Our only choice was to head to In-N-Out for lunch.  Sometimes we have to make sacrifices I guess!

These look like pretty happy faces!

Then off to the pool at the Nautical Resort for a little cool down and some relaxing.  No, we didn't sneak in....as long as you buy a drink, the pool is on the house.

Once we were all rejuvenated, it was time for dinner.  We took the kids to one of our favorite restaurants in town, Angelinas.  As we left the house, we were in a huge dust storm.  The mountains in all directions had disappeared in the cloud of dust, and the sky was just an off white color.  Very eerie!

It has been a fabulous week with the kids here so far.  We love having them here and spending time with them!
