Speed Runs and Races (Saturday, April 21st, 2018)

It's always hard to find a place to watch the speed runs, but this year we decided it would be more fun to be comfortable, than to have "great" but hot seats.

Lots of boats were anchored out in the spectator area.

We didn't have the best view in the house this year, but we were certainly cool and comfortable.  The highest speed that we heard this year was 185 mph.  That's fast, especially on water!

After the speed runs, we went back to the house for a little down time, and then met our friends Sam and Sharyn to go to the races at the Havasu 95 Speedway.  Tonight's races featured the bandaleros, the monster truck called the Devastator, one stock race and the waterless boat races.

Steve posing with one of the little Bandalero drivers.

The Devastator was amazing!

There is always a beautiful sunset from the speedway.

The final event of the night was the water-less boat races.  They watered and soaped the track and off they went, it was hilarious!

The night ended with a great fireworks display as the racing season came to an end.  What a great night to end on.
