Our Trash Can is Possessed (Sunday, February 4th, 2017)

We have had this big metal trash can in our kitchen for years, and it has served us well.  

It is one of those cans that you wave your hand in front of the sensor, and it opens itself.  We loved it when we bought it, but after a few years it quit working.  And that was years ago.... like probably 10 years ago. 

Other than it not opening itself, it was still a good trash can, so we have held on to it and continued to use it.  We just bend down and open the lid with our hand.  It's really not that hard.  

Today, Steve reached down to open the lid with his hand, just the way he has done it for the past 10 years or so, and the light on the sensor came on, and the lid opened.  

The fact that it opened itself is weird, but the fact that the batteries are still working after 10 years is even weirder.  It has now been working all day......so strange but also so nice!!
