Little Grand Canyon (Tuesday, January 30th, 2018)

Our first ride with the club on our Shea Road camp out was called the Little Grand Canyon.  It is a ride that we had never done before, so we were really excited to see it.  We headed out from camp at 9:30 in the morning.  We had three groups, two blue, a green.  The club tries really hard to ensure that they have appropriate groups for everyone riding ability and speed preference.  Our group was the second blue, which would be a little slower than then first blue, lead by Sam and Sharyn, and Steve and I were the tail gunners.

A lot of the ride to the Little Grand Canyon with through washes, and most of it was fairly open trails.  It was a really fun ride, and when we got there, we could see how it got it's name.  We stopped at the top of the canyon.  Steve and I thought it looked like a mixture of the Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert.

When we left, we drove down through the beautiful cliffs we had just been looking at from above.  The colors were amazing!

Then we drove through some ranch land.  What do these poor cows eat?

As we drove through this area, we could see all of the agricultural fields down south of Parker.  A lot of these fields are on the land of the Colorado River Indian Tribes.  Something we really enjoy seeing.

Our lunch stop.

After lunch we headed back to camp where we cleaned up from the dust of the day and enjoyed a leisurely evening by the camp fire.
