Vashon Island, WA (Friday, July 31st, 2020)

Vashon Island can only be accessed by ferry or private boat, but it's worth the trip. We took the ferry from Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA.

Jensen Point was our first stop.

While we took a break to feed the baby, we watched the seagulls crack open clams by dropping them in the rocks.

And we watched the row team practice.  The guys in the double boats had to wear masks.

This bike was parked and left next to this tree many years ago.  There's not much left of it now, but it certainly was a fun stop along the way.

A stop for lunch at Point Robinson Park and Lighthouse.

Beautiful Mt. Rainier as a backdrop.

It's impossible to resist fresh blackberries for desert when they are presented like this.

Then to the north end of the island to the West Seattle Ferry terminal.  There was supposed to be a park there, but we could never find it, so with a very content baby we headed out to Spring Beach County Park.

It was a small park, but still very nice.  We ordered dinner from Cactus before heading back to Tahlequah to catch our Ferry back to Tacoma.

I loved all of the sights we saw today, but probably y favorite thing about this island is the farm stands, fresh eggs, flowers and fruit for sale everywhere.

After nine hours of exploring, our little man finally got a little grumpy, and who can blame him.  He was quite a trooper.  Mom was super happy to get out of the car on the ferry ride home and give him some well deserved cuddles.
