Belly Boating, Red Feather Lakes, CO (Saturday, July 6th, 2019)

Today was our youngest daughter's first try at fly fishing from a belly boat.  Grandpa got her all fix up and explained how it all worked.

Before we knew it, she had her first fish on.

She didn't quite have the netting technique down.  We thought she was going in several times.

But she eventually got it.

By now she was getting the netting down.

But this one jumped out of her hands before they could pose for their picture.

As she was coming off the lake, I got distracted by this butterfly.  The outside of it's wings were speckled,

and the inside of it's wings were periwinkle.

Their favorite fishing spot freed up, so they had to move down the shore a little ways.

And then she was back at it, this time without the belly boat.  You can see why this is their favorite spot.

And another one!

And another!

And of course grandpa had his fair share of luck too.

It was another gorgeous evening!!!  We never imagined such beautiful weather, or so many fish!
