Barbados (Wednesday, March 13th, 2019)

Barbados is an amazing island, you can wander into Bridgetown from the cruise ship port, but unfortunately, if you want to go to the beach, you really need to take an excursion or a taxi.  By the time you walked there,it would be time to turn around and get back to the ship.  We chose the "beach break" excursion, which took us to a place Called Harbour Lights.  They provided us with a rum punch drink when we arrived, and had a really nice bar and restaurant, but best of all, they had one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen.  The sand was so fine it was like flour, and off shore was an old ship wreck (now almost completely covered by sand) where we could snorkel.

The boats in the distance are snorkeling excursion boats over the ship wreck.  We took our own equipment and just swam out from shore to do our snorkeling.  It was too deep to take any pictures, but we saw turtles, sting rays, schools of squid, a bock fish, puffer fish, gars and tangs.  It was super fun!  After Steve and I rested up for a few minutes, we took Dan back out with us.  He loved it and can't wait to go snorkeling again.

I truly loved this place!  It's too bad you can't just walk here from the boat, but I was so glad we brought our snorkeling equipment and really enjoyed the day.
