Quartzsite, AZ (Saturday, January 19th, 2019)

If you've never visited Quartzsite, AZ during it's peak season, it is a sight to behold!  Campers, trailers and RVs from all over the US and Canada flock to Quartzsite for the winter.  Many of them bring their portable businesses with them, others just show up for the festivities. Some park in the RV parks in town, while others park out in the desert.  Snowbirds are everywhere, turning this small town of just over 3,600 people into a sea of organized chaos.

During January, there is also an RV show in town, bringing in RV's, campers, trailers, and big tents full of vendors that sell everything from nuts and bolts to beads and clothes.  If you want it, they probably have it...somewhere!

The parking lots are a combination of people's portable homes and the businesses they brought with them.  Some of them are here only for the RV show, but many of them are here for the entire winter.

We did a little shopping.

And some eating.  We decided to leave the RV show for lunch because it was just too crowded.  So out in the "permanent" area of the organized chaos, we found Randy's Hamburgers.  Randy's staff makes great burgers and onion rings, and Randy is the wait staff.  He has a covered seating area out behind his "restaurant" that was shady and just perfect for us to rest our feet while we enjoyed our lunch.  Randy also makes curly fries that are a fry basket completely full of curly fries.  They looked amazing, but probably a little more food than any of us needed, so we stuck to the onion rings.  The mushroom swiss burgers were great.  Our daughter really enjoyed her southwest burger, but it got pretty spicy by the end.  In the evening (after 4:00 I think) Randy serves $1 hamburgers with grilled onions.  They looked really good too, but we were glad we had the full on burgers for lunch instead.  They were $6, or $9 with a drink and fries.

Just a few more things you can find at the RV show.

Antler dog chews and chandeliers.

Winter hats.  A little too warm for today, but hey, they were cute so we bought some.

And we finished our day with a date shake.  We always like to try a new discovery.  It was good, but not great, but if you're a date lover, it would be worth your time to try one.  We split ours three ways, and were glad we did.  It was pretty rich!

Just having fun with our girl whenever we can, and that's what weekends are made for!
