Cirque Du Soleil, Las Vegas (Saturday, January 26th, 2019)

It was a sad morning packing our daughter and her kitties, and getting them ready to head home, but their was good news with the bad... we have one more really great day before we actually have to say goodbye.

Our youngest daughter and her boyfriend gave the three of us tickets to Cirque Du Soleil and a night at Treasure Island for Christmas.  So the first leg of the journey to Washington will only take us as far as Las Vegas.

We enjoyed a lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant, Weera Thai on Sahara.  The Kao Soy and Panang curry are the best we have ever eaten.  Then off to our hotel.

We got settled into our room, and got the cats settled in as well.  Treasure Island doesn't allow pets, so our daughter stayed at a nearby Candle Wood Suites where her kitties would be comfy and cozy while we enjoyed our time in the city.

This is Albert hiding in the towel cubby in the bathroom.  He made himself right at home.

We enjoyed the fountains at the Bellagio  and a relaxing walk along the strip to stretch our legs before the show and do some people watching as the sea of humanity wound around us in every direction.

Cirque Du Soleil was being performed at the Mystere theatre inside Treasure Island.

We had front row seats in the second section.  I felt like an "America's Got Talent Judge".

The pre-show entertainment.  He was a hoot!

Some highlights from the show, but not too many because I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else.

We didn't know what to expect going into the show, but we could have never imagined the performance we received.  The lighting, music, costumes and performers were all first rate!  It is a show of the most strength and precision I have ever seen.  I'm not convinced that all of what they did is humanly possible.  We found out after the fact that we went to the "kid friendly" version of Cirque Du Soleil, so I'm not sure what the other shows would be like, but this one was amazing!

When the show was over, we all headed to Ellis Island to try our hands at a little video poker while we waited for a table for dinner.  Ellis Island is a micro brewery just off the strip, and is a spot where the locals hang out.  They have great craft beer, and a great meal at old time Las Vegas prices.  The strip is great for taking in the sights, but the off beat places are where we like to gamble and eat.

Steve and I had the fish and chips.

Our daughter had the hangover burger.

Then back to our hotels for a good nights sleep.  Tomorrow will come early, and for Steve and our daughter, the drive will be long.

We are so grateful to our daughter and her boyfriend for introducing us to this amazing Las Vegas night life!  The show and hotel were both great!  What a thoughtful Christmas present!  Next time we hope they can come with us!
