LHC The Parker Strip and a Burro (April 26th, 2016)

Today we headed south of Lake Havasu City with our friends Alan and Linda and their youngest son. We launched their boat at the state park down near the Parker Strip so we could boat the Colorado River below the Parker Dam.  It's really fun to boat the river, because you can just turn the engine off and float, letting the current carry you along with the current.

So today while we were floating down the river, I looked up and noticed that a wild desert burro had wondered into one of the trailer parks on the California side of the river.  So Alan, being the great guy that he is, started up the boat and drove over there so I could see it.  We weren't able to get very close, but I did manage to get a few pictures of it calmly wandered away.

There is an area near the Parker Strip called Moovalya Keys, where there is a neighborhood of nice houses built on canals.  It's really fun to boat through the canals and look at all of the beautiful homes.

Look at this great swimming pool!
After we toured around the canals for awhile, we stopped in at the Roadrunner bar for a quick bee and the headed to Sundance Saloon for snack of carne asada nachos.

Another great day with friends on the water!
