Enjoying the Town (Saturday, February 10th, 2018)

Sometimes we get so busy with life and golf and RZR riding..... that we forget to just enjoy this beautiful little town we live in.  So this morning we decided to take our coffee down to the Bridge Water Channel and walk while we drank it.  This time of year, the town is full of seasonal visitors from Canada and the northern states and the channel was full of them too.

We walked along, just enjoying the sights, but as we got near the bridge, there were tents set up all along the channel, and they all had tables of remote control boats.  We stopped to talk to some of the guys, and they said that there were having a boat race today.

So we waited around for a few minutes to see some of the action.  A lot of people brought their chairs down to the channel to watch the event, but we just sat on the wall.  The little boats are pretty fast and kind of fun to watch.

They had yellow buoys out for the race course, but they also had the channel closed to boats on both ends of the race course while the boats were racing.

The kids in the boat would go out and pick up the "rubble" of any of the boats that crashed after each race.

All the spectators.

When we had seen enough of the boat races, we continued on our walk.  This is the view from the London Bridge looking back over the channel.

We really love this little town and all it has to to offer. The weather this time of year is perfect and we just love being out in it.

Dinner on the Channel (Friday, November 10th, 2017)

Happy Veteran's Day weekend from the London Bridge!  Today I am thinking about the veterans in my life, my dad and my son (in-law).  So humbled by their service for our country and the sacrifices they have made and are making!  Thank you!

We did a lot of work around the house today, and decided that a nice relaxing dinner would be nice.  So we invited our friends Alan and Linda to meet us at a little pizza place on the channel called Papa Leone's.  It's not a fancy place, but when the weather is this great, it is the perfect place to eat out on their patio, under a big red umbrella, with a slight breeze and a setting sun.

The channel was so calm and peaceful!

The flags on the London Bridge were completely illuminated by the setting sun.

We sat and ate as we watched the sun set over Bridge Water Channel.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We walked by the fountains in the English Village on our way back to the car.

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place where we can enjoy views like this all the time.  I don't think I will ever take this for granted.

Boating with the Kids (Wednesday, March 29th, 2017)

It's a much better day today than it was yesterday!  The wind has calmed way down, and the temperature is up.  Yay!  That means boating day!

Our first stop was the indian reservation on the California side of the lake, to see how the new marina is coming along.  They are definitely making progress.  When it is all done, there will be a new casino built here to replace the old one.

Then into the channel.

The strong wind had died, but there was still a definite breeze, so we saw several sail boats out enjoying the day.

After about an hour, our friends Alan and Linda joined us in their big boat.

Our first stop was Copper Canyon for a quick look around.  Then we pulled into Steamboat Cover, were we saw this white heron. It's always a treat to see wildlife.

As we pulled out of Steamboat Cove, this silly bird was just standing on a rock in the middle of the lake.

We finally made our way out into the middle of the lake, where we tied together and just hung out for awhile.  It didn't take long for a couple of ducks (we call them lake rats!) to find us and climb up on Alan's boat.  Somehow, they know how much he hates them, and they know just how to torment him.

They are so friendly that he just reached out and caught the male. He let it go, but it was only a matter of minutes before they were climbing up on his boat again.  So funny!

Typical men, Alan and our son (in-law) checking out the motors.

As we headed back to the channel after a great day of boating, the kids rode with Alan, so they could really feel the speed!

A beautiful flock of birds, although I have no idea what kind.

And as we pulled in the garage at home, we were greeted by a beautiful Havasu sunset.

It's so nice to have two of our kids here with us for the week!  It just makes everything so much more fun!

Here's a quick recap of our day, compliments of our oldest daughter!
