We'll, I've discovered a new activity here in Havasu, and I have to say I'm excited about it! I have done wine and paint sessions in Colorado, but I just discovered that we have it here as well.
In Colorado there are actual venues for wine and painting, that's all they do, but here in Havasu, a local artist rents a space at the London Bridge Resort a couple of times a month. She sets up one of the conference rooms with tables, drop cloths and all the supplies we will need for our artistic endeavor of the evening. It costs $35 to sign up for a session, and that includes everything, even your first drink!
She actually gave us a little guidance on our canvas to get us started.
Then she slowly taught us, step by step how to paint the picture of the night.
Our masterpieces are starting to come together, and our drinks are starting to run out!
By the end of the night we had a ton of fun, and even had a little something to show for our hours of girl time.
As you can see, we were all painting the same picture, but they definitely had their our own personal touch. This was a great night with girls. I can't wait to do it again!!!
We are using this blog to document and share our adventures with our family and friends. We hope the information is interesting and useful.

Siesta Time - Wall Painting (Wednesday, June 7th, 2017)
Since we moved into this house, we have had a pretty simple TV and media stand in our living room.

I would really love to find a simpler look for that wall, so I decided to take some of the money we made on our old furniture and put it into a new TV and media stand.
So last week we went shopping to find a new stand, and I found something really fun for a great price. The only problem was that it was white, and our living room wall was white, and that was going to be a whole lot of white! So as it always happens, one thing lead to another, and I ended up having to paint our living room wall. Steve was kind enough to help me take all of the pictures down and move the furniture out.
As you can see, it's a whole lot of white!
And then the painting began! I am really getting tired of wearing my painting clothes!
The edging always takes SO much longer than the rolling!

But the rolling makes such a difference! My wall will be ready for it's new furniture once I remove the blue painter's tape. I think it looks so much better Already!

And with the furniture...It looks like home.
Another siesta time project down. I'm so proud of myself for just getting stuff done! Now it's time to have a little fun again. We'll have to see what we can come up with!

Bachelorette Party (May 16th, 2105)
The girls came to our house for dinner at about 5:00. We made them a nice dinner of Milwaukee pork chops with rice and broccoli. We wanted all the girls to have a good dinner to help offset the drinking that some of them would be doing. While the girls were eating, Steve and I drove over to Pinot’s Palette, a little painting and cocktails place in the Hyland’s part of Denver, to drop off a bunch of snacks. The staff at Pinot's Palette had reserved the back room just for the girls, and were busy getting all of their canvases set up and paints poured. They were paying attention to every detail to make this a special night.
We carried in all of the snacks and were introduced to the instructor, Greg, that would be teaching the girls how to do their painting, and had a beer while we were setting up the food. They were so welcoming to us, and allowed us as much time as we wanted to set up, enjoy our beers and look around.
At Pinot's Palette, the front room is used for public painting events. They have a schedule of when they will be doing each painting, and you can call and reserve a seat for that painting. When you get there, the main room is set up with long tables, and there is a small bar at the back. They provide you with an apron, easle, canvas and paints. Throughout the night, the bar is open with a nice selection of cocktails and non alcoholic drinks for purchase at very affordable prices.
They have an instructor and an assistant for each class, and starting from a blank canvas, they teach you how to paint a painting. Each person is invited to add their own personal touches as they go through the directions, and some people even go way off course and paint whatever they feel like. It is such a fun experience, and at the end of the night, you will come home with your very own painting that you painted yourself. It is a great place for date nights, a girls night out, or any other evening out.
They also offer private parties, which is what the bachelorette party will be. If you do a private party, they give you a lot of flexibility with the room.
