Another magical place in the desert southwest is horseshoe bend. It is a spot where the Colorado River suddenly makes a hairpin turn. This overlook is just below the Glenn Canyon Dam that creates Lake Powell. Parking is $10, and then there is a long path down to the overview point. A bottle of water is recommended for the walk, because it is farther than you think it should be. And be prepared for crowds when you reach the overlook. This is a popular place!
As we were walking back to the car from the overlook, I decided to take a quick picture of the path leading to the overlook. It is a nice wide path with plenty of room for all.
