Dante's View, Death Valley NP

Our first stop on our first morning in the park was Dante’s View.  This is an overlook of the whole valley.

The valley is 200 feet below sea level, and the peak in the background is over 11,000 feet above sea level and it all resides within the National park.

We walked out on a side trail from the overlook, but found that the views from the overlook were the best.

We were glad to get this great view of the valley so early in our trip.  It gave us a lot of perspective of the park, but it was super cold and windy on top of this mountain, so we were glad when we got back in the car to head to our next destination.
