Havasu Dust Storm (Thursday, September 22nd, 2016)

We've been lucky enough to get back to Lake Havasu City for a few days this fall.  This is the time of year we love the most in this beautiful desert city.  The day time temperatures are in the high 80's and the night time temperatures are in the 70's.  It is just perfect here!

But the day after we arrived, we were greeted by an Arizona dust storm.  They aren't as dramatic here as they are in the Phoenix area, but none-the-less, they advise you to stay inside and not drive. The dust storms often cause brown-out conditions and make driving very dangerous, and the dust can also carry unhealthy particles that can cause valley fever.

We could see it coming from our yard.

As the dust storm rolled in, the California mountains completely disappeared from view.

This was an interesting way to start our trip to Lake Havasu, but this certainly won't slow us down.  By tomorrow the dust will all be gone, and we'll be outside enjoying the beautiful weather again!
