Something New in Havasu (Wednesday, September 16th, 2015)

We joined the gym!

And today was our first day of classes. Steve always enjoys the cycling classes, and I like the cardio body sculpt. Havasu Fitness is so laid back. There was a big line when we got there this morning, so although we had left ourselves 30 minutes to get all signed up before class, we still didn’t make it. But they let us go take our classes and then come back out and get our annual membership. After class we filled out the paper work, but Andra didn’t have her ID with her, and we had planned on using a credit card to pay, which they don’t take, but they got us all signed up and set our paperwork aside until we could bring an ID and checkbook back.

A view of the main gym.  There are also rooms for cardio/weight classes, cycling, personal training and childcare.  There is also an area upstairs just for ladies.

We ran some errands after the gym and then came back to the house to have some leftover Thai food from last night for lunch. Then we headed out on an adventure. Steve told me to put on a swim suit, but that was all he said. It was to be a surprise!  And we headed across the London Bridge and out onto the island. When we got onto the island, he pulled off the road and headed down a “sort of” dirt road. It was definitely four-wheel drive. We ended up on a small island beach, which we had all to ourselves, and to my surprise, Steve had the whole back of the truck packed with beach stuff. He had chairs, an umbrella, towels and a cooler of beer and water. He backed the truck right down to the water, and that was our little piece of paradise for the day.

This is the life.  Just me, my beer and my chair!

Our little piece of paradise
