Fishing with Grandpa, Red Feather Lakes, CO (Thursday, July 4th, 2019)

Our youngest daughter joined us at the cabin today, and couldn't wait to get out on the lake with her grandpa to enjoy some fly fishing.

Grandpa had lots of good tips for her, and of course, she took them all.

I think they were fishing a little to close to each other, because grandpa ended up catching her.

So he stopped fishing and just spent some time with her.

There were a couple of duck families out on the lake that we enjoyed as well.

What a gorgeous night!

She caught six fish tonight, and had several more on that she wasn't able to land.  What a great night of fishing!

Elk, Arvada, CO, (Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019)

Today we were on our way to Steve's family cabin, literally five miles from where we used to live in Colorado, we saw a huge herd of bull elk.  This is an extremely rare sighting, and truly amazed both of us!  They are such beautiful and majestic creatures!

After watching them for some time in total amazement, we continued our drive to the cabin.

When we got there, it was time for Steve's dad to do a little evening fishing, so we went down to the lake to cheer him on, and in no time at all, he had his first fish.

He fishes these lakes often, and is a very good fisherman, but it was still exciting for us to watch him catch one.

The evening was extremely still, with beautiful reflections on the lake.  I think they are even more beautiful to us because we don't see this kind of green very often.

It's so nice to be up at the cabin again to relax and enjoy our time with Steve's parents.

Kids Deep Sea Fishing, Pacific Ocean (Sunday, June 30th, 2019)

Sometimes life is dull, I get that just like everyone else (in fact, today is laundry day for us, so it's one of those days).  But I am so happy that we gave our kids the same sense of adventure that we have.  When they have spare time, they don't just sit around, they are always out doing something fun.

Today our son (in-law) and his buddies, along with all of their wives went out on a deep sea fishing adventure.

Our son (in-law) caught the only salmon.

The group combined caught a lot of rock fish.

It looks like they had a great time fishing with their friends!

The crew of the sea angel made their day perfect, and even filleted all of their fish for them.  You certainly can't ask for more than that!

Our daughter filled us in that there was also a little bit of sea sickness going around, so the cooler came back just about as full as when they left.  Nothing out of the ordinary for a deep sea fishing trip!

Prospect RV Park, Wheat Ridge, CO (Sunday, June 30th, 2019)

After leaving Grand Junction, CO, we made our way to the Denver area and stayed a few days at Steve's brother's house.  Yesterday we moved to the RV park where we will spend most of our time while we are in the Denver area.

The RV Park is in Wheat Ridge, CO and is called The Prospect.  The back of the park is right up against Clear Creek, with a walking/biking path that goes for miles in both directions.  We have only had a chance to walk a small part of it, but it is beautiful!

So far, the RV park has been nice and quiet and has all the amenities an RVer would need.  It has a restroom and laundry facility attached to the office for anyone that needs it, and anywhere from 50 amp full hook up 's to electric only sites.

Another thing about this park, they work with the Colorado Homeless Coalition, and provide free water and dumps for the homeless in the area, as well as donations of any items that travelers leave behind.  They said that Denver is a final destination for a lot of RV rentals, so people will leave behind things that they have purchased along the way when they fly home from here.

What a great community service!

We are really enjoying our stay here.  The staff are very welcoming and laid back, and the access to the creek path behind the property is definitely an added bonus!
